Digital Encoding of Videos

Moments in Motion offers extremely high quality digital video encoding services with fast turnaround times and reasonable rates. We can convert standard video to a digital format, such as MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Windows Media, AVI or Quicktime. Supported source tape formats include miniDV, DVCAM, VHS, SVHS, 8mm, and Hi8. We can also convert any video produced by Moments in Motion.

While we offer conversion to several different formats, MPEG-1 is amongst the most popular because MPEG-1 full motion video offers top quality video for impressive multimedia presentations, training videos, video CDs, and video archiving. MPEG encoding offers full screen, full motion video playback with CD quality audio and has been accepted around the world as the international standard for digital video compression. Approximately one hour of video can be placed onto a single CD-ROM with better than VHS quality video and CD quality sound.

The Windows Media Format is also becoming an increasingly popular format and can be created for streaming on the Web. Between three and six hours of excellent quality video can be put onto a single CD.

Finally, Moments and Motion can create DVD titles with full motion interactive menus.

Pricing Example*: To help clarify our pricing model, please refer to the following example. In the example, we'll assume that you would like 15 three minute video clips converted from a video tape to MPEG-1 format on a single master CD-ROM.

Total time required:
15 (clips) x 3 (minutes) = 45 minutes.

Charges:

$5 x 30 (first 30 minutes of encoding)

+ $3 x 15 (next 15 minutes of encoding)

+ $25 x 15 (setup fee for clips less than 4 minutes)

+ $25 (CD-ROM mastering charge)
